As we prepare to re-open our doors, we’re thrilled to announce that our special theme for the weekend will celebrate one of Filey’s most magical legends — the Filey Dragon!
Long ago, high on the cliffs and around the Brigg, it’s said a mighty dragon made its home. With scales that shimmered in the sea mist and a roar that echoed across the bay, the creature caused quite a stir among the villagers. Fishermen feared to sail, and families kept their doors tightly shut at night.
But as all good legends tell us, courage shines brightest in the face of fear. A brave local hero stepped forward to protect the town. With determination (and perhaps a little help from the community and Parkin), the dragon was finally defeated — and peace returned to Filey.
Today, the dragon is no longer something to fear, but something to celebrate. It reminds us of bravery, community spirit, and the power of coming together — which feels like the perfect way to mark our re-opening.
